About Us

 OUR MINISTER AND WIFE
THE REV. WILLIAM "BILL" MACKEY-WISOR AND MARY ANNE

From the Pastor,
Greetings:   I have been in ministry for 34 years starting with a student parish of 4 churches in rural Indiana while I was finishing my Master of Divinity at Louisville Presbyterian Seminary.   My first full time charge of 4 churches was south of State College, Pennsylvania where I served 3 years on a four point charge.  I moved to Nescopeck, PA where I had a two point charge for 5 years.  Then I felt a call to work in the field of mental health and family counseling at which time I was a part-time pastor at two UCC churches. I committed my life to Christ at age 9 and have had a spiritual journey since then, which I welcome to share in my ministry.
I met my wife Mary Anne at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary where she had a double major of Master of Divinity and Master of Social Work. We married in 1979 and served a small church for three months and then took an internship in Colorado for 9 months. Mary Anne went to The University of Evansville, IN and received certification in Gerontology.  She worked for the Department of Aging for 12 years at the Columbia-Montour Area Agency on Aging in central Pennsylvania.
As pastor of the The Watson Memorial congregation, I have found a family of friendly and devoted Christians.   We have a broad array of talents and interests which are centered in the love of God and in living by the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ. The present membership is strong in learning and teaching the Bible. We serve Christ in the community and through United Methodist missions.   I believe there is potential in our church that will nourish and strengthen you and your family thorough our commitment and rich history.
Our family started with Josh who was born when we lived in Indiana, our daughter Amanda was born when we lived at our first appointment and our daughter Sarah was born at our second appointment. Josh, 33, lives in Bridgewater, VA with his wife, daughter and a newborn.  Amanda, 30, lives in Philadelphia, PA with her fiancée, Chad, and their newborn.  Sarah lives in Conehatta, MS with her husband, daughter and a newborn.
My wife and I have many interests including, crafts and festivals, movies, and history. We love to “geo-cache” and go on back roads to explore the countryside.  Geo-caching is finding hidden “treasures” using a GPS. Sometimes we are successful, sometimes we are not.
I personally invite you to join the people of Watson Memorial in a successful ministry together.
